G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè (/g̃ɪ/ /ˈsijɘ/ [different; other; distinct; various; unique] [horizon; panorama]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Lëcêngthëvi Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè was founded by Khîb Tsmëmesmë, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 30°C (86°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 27°C (80°F). G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè receives an average of 264 cm/y (103 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1306 m (4284 ft) above sea level.

Overview

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 16th century in winter of the year 1549, by Khîb Tsmëmesmë. The establishment of G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's construction back out of the project. Khîb Tsmëmesmë pushed on reguardles, and G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè is was constructed arround several restrictive canals mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. Unfortuantly, these millitarily questionable fortifications are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same divine, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its divine. Asside form the revrent worship, you can see the citizens are preparing for something, and that something isn’t good. Weapons are worn openly. Defensive structures have been recently constructed to guard less used areas of the town. Merchants seem very eager to sell their wares at discount prices. Something is coming.

Civic Infrastructure

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's parks.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's natural decorations nor waterways.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .

The Spider, Ogre (Huge) near G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè are known to be quite timid.

G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves drinking to channel Augury energies of tier 2 via mimery.

Economy

The following information was obtained via the Imperial Census Bureau as part of the Eyom Economic Outreach Program. It differs from Standard Imperial censuses in that many of Tom's citizens, regardless of culture, work in more than one occupation or hold more than a single job. A great magical Working has been a critical part of G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè since its creation, but now it's beginning to decay. It may function only intermittently, now, or its effects may have curdled into something double-edged. The locals have no idea how to fix it, and indeed, it may not be possible to repair it with modern science or sorcery.

Due to a magical anomaly, G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè is directly accessible from a nearby river, despite the lack of a physical connection between the town's pond and the river.

POI

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè lost 132 people, 281 livestock, and 45 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 169, when members of G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's militia enacted an operation to rescue a specific expert from the enemy. The operation was complicated by an outbreak of plague which struck the ranks, killing many and laying low many more. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's forces. The war is remembered in legend by G̈î-siyê Dêtîkè's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
